Secondary education

Our programmes challenge students to take a critical look at the world and explore their own limits. They learn to form their own opinions and become aware of their own responsibilities. Our performances address current social issues and themes such as love, social media, drugs and heritage.

Projects

For secondary education, we offer special projects that focus on connection and collaboration between students. These projects go beyond a single workshop and last, for example, half a day or a full day. Alternatively, we can run a series over several weeks. In consultation with you, we provide tailor-made programmes for your students. The projects below are examples. Are you interested in a performance, a workshop or a learning programme for your class or school? We’d be happy to help you decide what best suits your students.

A day of cultural and arts education for pre-vocational secondary education (vmbo)

Together with CultuurSchakel, we have developed teaching programmes that are fully aligned with the exam requirements for the cultural and arts education (CKV) subject at vmbo level. Students watch a performance, participate in dance workshops and present their self-created dance pieces to one another. Using their own digital footage and our reflection worksheets, they complete their CKV portfolio. The performance Het verrotte leven van Floortje Bloem is well suited to a day of cultural and arts education. The themes of identity, vulnerability and self-confidence take centre stage. Alternatively, choose the performance Is dit echt?! about the downside of social media and the balance between expectations and reality.

Dance your way through your CKV curriculum!

In this workshop, students will be introduced to pioneers who played a major role in the history and development of modern dance. To understand the lesson material, students will dance and experience the specific differences between the work of choreographers such as Isadora Duncan, Martha Graham, Loïe Fuller and Merce Cunningham.

Learn to choreograph!

In a collaborative process, the students learn how to dance a theme or story. We have been running this project at Novum College in Voorburg for a few years now. Over four days of workshops, the students are introduced to dance and create their own dance under guidance. At Novum College, this dance is part of a presentation of various art disciplines for the entire school and parents/carers. The students themselves or the school choose the overarching story or theme. Examples include Carmen, seduction and forbidden love.

Workshops

Workshops

You can turn any story, feeling, or theme into a dance. In our dance workshops, students experience the power of dance. With every school performance, we offer a complementary workshop. We also develop tailor-made workshops upon request.
