The Hague Shuffle

The challenge

GGD Haaglanden has set up a challenge together with Lonneke from Leth Dans. Together we challenge primary schools in The Hague to participate in a The Hague shuffle competition. Lonneke van Leth's dancers have made a tutorial, see above/below, so that everyone can practice. Register your school quickly for our challenge and have a chance to win the cup!

On the challenge day we let the schools compete against each other.

And a jury judges how they shuffle. The three schools that radiate the most enthusiasm, cooperation and originality will advance to the finals. They compete against each other on the Challenge Day in De Uithof The Hague.

The Hague Healthy Weight Approach from GGD Haaglanden and Lonneke from Leth Dans discovered a shared dream: using dance to get children in The Hague to exercise regularly. Result: The Hague Shuffle!

Lonneke van Leth Dans is the Hague dance company for young people. They perform many dance shows at primary and secondary schools throughout the Netherlands and can also be seen in the theatre with family shows. With a narrative, visual and classical modern dance style full of humour and accessible choreographies, Lonneke van Leth Dans knows how to inspire children and young people for modern dance. Choreographer Lonneke van Leth devised the choreography for the Haagse Shuffle.

The Hague Approach to Healthy Weight (HAGG) of GGD Haaglanden wants all children in The Hague to grow up healthy in an exercise-friendly environment where the healthy choice is the easy choice. HAGG achieves this by working together with professionals in the child's environment, including by making healthy normal. Drink water when you are thirsty, fruit as a snack, small treats and enough exercise. HAGG especially wants to show that healthy can also be fun and tasty!

The school will embark on this journey with Lonneke van Leth Dans and The Hague Approach to Healthy Weight for the full three years.
